This HOW-TO file assumes a Microsoft Network is already established and that File
Sharing is enabled in the Network Control Panel.
The cord folder on the hard drive of the computer with the TOEIC Management Utility must
be shared.
To share the “cord” folder double-click on the “My Computer” on the
desktop, then double click on the Hard Drive (usually “Local Disk
(C:)”). Locate the folder called “cord” and right-click on it. Select “Sharing…”. Click the “Shared As” radio button and verify that
“CORD” is the Share Name, and that Access Type is set to
“Full”. Leave the Password field blank.
The shared “cord” folder must be a mapped to a drive letter on the testing computer.
To map the “cord” folder on the testing computer, go to the network explorer; called
“Network Neighborhood” on Windows95 and 98 or “My Network
Places” on newer versions. Double-click on “Entire Network” and choose the network that the TOEIC
computers are on. Double-click on the name of the computer that the “cord” folder is shared on. Right-click on the “cord” network folder and choose “Map
Network Drive…”. Choose “T” as the drive letter and check the box for “Reconnect at logon”.
Any drive letter can be chosen, but “T” can be remembered easily as a reference to TOEIC.
