Using DxR Clinician: an overview
Case Investigation:
You may investigate the case by making selections in any order you choose.
You may: interview the patient, perform a physical Exam, or order Lab
tests. A complete record, including a timeline, is kept of all your
actions for review by your instructor.
Entering Hypotheses:
When you expand your case investigation beyond the Present Illness
category in the Interview section, the Hypothesis window will appear. You
will be prompted to enter a concise statement of the patient's major
problem in the first text box. Type your hypothesis in the second box, and
click "Add". You may edit your statement and/or list of hypotheses as you
work through the case.
Making a Diagnosis:
When you have completed your case investigation and are ready to make a
diagnosis, click the Dx button. You will be required to choose from among
the hypotheses you previously entered. Once you click "Enter Final
Diagnosis", you will not be able to re-enter the investigation phase
of the case and you will proceed to the Final Management section.
Patient Management:
If you click Management and enter a final diagnosis, you may enter
an Interim Management plan while continuing your case investigation. If
you click Management after you enter a final diagnosis, you will be
prompted to develop a Final Management plan. You will enter your mode of
treatment and then select options from the various Management categories.
When you are finished with the patient management, click the Evaluate
button to finish the patient encounter.
Notes:
You will be able to write and print general notes, soap notes, learning
issues notes, and your problem list from within the case.
